Arroyo Seco Pottery Studio
Arroyo Seco, is one of my favorite places to visit when in New Mexico. This pottery studio is one a several unique shops in this small village. I wish I could say to painted this En Plein Air, but I didn't. The photo I used was taken a few summers ago. The perfect time of day. Shadows and light.... PERFECT! Painting is much easier when the light is right.

I enjoyed a visit to your blog this morning. I am a former Professor of Fine art and Humanities living in PA. Sight loss two years ago took away my ability to paint, so I am now doing pottery. I did start a blog about sight loss to help others and to discuss my own transition from painting to pottery. Enjoyed your pictures, and always wanted to paint with encaustics but never got to it. NICE work.
ReplyDeleteI love this picture. It is very well done. Your lights are just great. The way you captured the shadows on everything , doors, windows, sign is amazing. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteGood painting, Karen. Love the subject matter, and the painterly look. Keep on painting!
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteThis painting is just wonderful, I love the way the shadows dance in the painting. Well done, Kay
